Support Employment Options

The UCP Supported Employment program offers Employers two basic services:

  1. Individual Placement
Individual Placement introduces companies to thoroughly screened applicants who, with the support of our program, are more than capable of working in a variety of fields. Many of the participants in the Supported Employment program receive the assistance of a job coach – someone to work alongside the employee as her/she learns the position at no cost to the employer. In some cases, an External Situation Assessment is available to allow a company to “try out” a potential employee for a short trial period. During this time, there is no cost to the employer. The participant’s wages are paid by UCP and he/she is covered by the UCP workers’ compensation and liability policies.
  2. Group Placement (Contracted Work Crews)
Group Placement consists of contracted work crews whose services are tailored to fit the needs of a company. Each crew contains a minimum of three people with disabilities along with a Crew Supervisor. Not only are the UCP rates competitive, but all crewmembers are covered by the UCP workers’ compensation and liability policies.

As a future employer, you can be assured that UCP will provide Job Development guidance, working closely with the employee to set and achieve personal and professional goals. UCP also offers Job Coaching, as the employee learns new job duties.
