Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, the JD will apply techniques of job development and marketing to provide individualized job skills training and placement for persons with varying disabilities in community sites.
1. Any combination of education and experience that could likely provide the necessary knowledge and skills is qualifying. A typical way to achieve the needed education and experience would be:
Completion of 15 (30 quarter) college units in a behavioral science filed such as psychology, education, special education, social services, rehabilitation or related field work, and two years of responsible experience providing direct community integration and work services to those consumers with cerebral palsy or similar physical disabilities.
2. Knowledge of Department of Rehabilitation supported employment regulations and procedures; job coaching techniques with respect to persons with cerebral palsy or similar disabilities; counseling techniques; adaptive and communication devices, transferring techniques; attendant care techniques; section 504 of the rehabilitation act; advocacy and related activites.
3. Knowledge of marketing/sales techniques.
4. Must have reliable and insured transportation.
