30 per week - part time

This position reports directly to the Program Manager of the department and is responsible to provide group and one to one instruction daily to consumers; record data regarding the daily progress of customers meeting their ISP objectives; ensure the safety of customers; maintain classroom equipment; provide general clean-up for facility; assist in application of behavioral management techniques as specified in instructional plans; provide personal care such as toileting, dressing, feeding and mobility assistance to consumers when necessary; provide lifting and positioning of customers as instructed to promote and maintain a congenial supportive work environment and other duties as assigned.

 
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Must possess High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Must be 18 years of age or older
  3. Prefer 1 year prior experience in teaching/direct intervention with developmentally disabled population
  4. Must maintain First Aid and CPR Certificates. (company provides courses)
  5. Have knowledge of developmental and physical disabilities, behavior and medical problems that can accompany the primary and secondary disability.
  6. Must be in good health with the ability to lift 50 pounds.
  7. Knowledge of basic personal care and behavior modification techniques; must be able to remain calm in situations of high stress; must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
